LibreFest 2025 included the launch of the LibreTexts Academy Online. Below you will see the selection of FREE courses that anyone can take to get familiar with LibreTexts, it's Libraries, and all of the other features!
If you are looking for your courses through a subscription, click on "My Courses" in the header menu.
Althought the courses below are free, we have additional courses that can be taken through our Academy Online Subscription. There are multiple types of Academy Online Subscription Packages, including for a single month or for 6 months, and even a reduced-cost ADAPT-only subscription. Note that each LibreNet campus is eligible for a few free subscriptions, so if your campus is a member of the LibreNet, please do reach out to your Campus Admin or Library, and have them contact us.
Professional Development Pathways, Badges, & Certificates of Completion
The Academy Online is organized with a few specific Pathways for earning Badges and Certificates of Completion. Even if you prefer to just take a number of entry-level courses, we also offer Certificates of Completion for your professional development portfolios upon completion of at least three Academy Online Courses. Once you have subscribed, the details for these are available in the course: "Welcome to LibreTexts Academy Online!"
Available Pathways and Badges:
- LibreTexts Certified User Badge - Available to anyone who completes the paid version of the LibreTexts Basics for Beginners.
- LibreTexts ADAPT Certified User Badge - Instructors that complete the three fundamentals of ADAPT courses: Building Courses, Building Assignments, and Discuss-It Threaded Conversations are eligible for this badge.
- LibreTexts Certified Author Badge - Instructors who complete the Publishing 101 course and have submitted their request to publish their book either to a Campus Bookshelf or to the general Bookshelf in a library are eligible for this coveted Badge. This course includes a checklist for instructors to complete as part of their publishing journey.
- LibreNet Member Certified Admin Badge - Only LibreNet Member Campus Administrators are eligible to complete this badge. It involves completing the LibreTexts Basics for Beginners course as well as a special course training LibreNet Member Campus Admins.
- LibreTexts OER Licensing and Attribution Certification Badge - Available to anyone who completes the LibreTexts Academy Licensing and Attribution course.
Certificates of Completion:
- A Certificate of Completion listing the courses you have completed is available for anyone completing more than 3 courses. This certificate will include any Badges you have earned.
- Starting with LibreFest 2025, registrants will have access to a special LibreFest course with assessment and checklists for completion. Certificates of Completion are given to attendees who complete all of the required interactive elements and are in attendance.
